Manicure is a set of measures that improve the appearance of nails and hands and have a therapeutic and decorative purpose. We will analyze all types of manicure and describe the main features, advantages, disadvantages and contraindications.

Cosmetic and medical

Manicure can be medical or cosmetic.

Medical manicure is part of the measures necessary for the treatment of a number of diseases, such as nail fungus. It is prescribed for various deformities of the hands, most often the nails and phalanges of the fingers. Medical manicure necessarily involves:

  1. Sessions are conducted by a person with special education;
  2. Treatment takes place in a medical facility;
  3. Conditions of sterility during manicure;
  4. Medicines are applied to the nails.

Cosmetic manicure has an aesthetic function, improves appearance, and decorates. Contraindicated for fungal nail diseases.

Children's manicure

In addition to the cosmetic effect, children's manicure can help get rid of the habit of biting nails, which are treated with special products, most often with a bitter taste.

This type of manicure has its own differences:

  1. Gentle methods of nail treatment are used; this is always an unedged look. The nail plate of children under 14 years of age has a soft structure; if handled incorrectly, it can cause deformation of the nail plate. The cuticle is carefully pushed back after softening.
  2. Only certified children's products are used that will not cause an allergic reaction.
  3. To work with children's nails, only fine-grained glass files are needed.

Manicure for men

Men's manicure is different from others. The skin of men's hands is denser, rougher, they do not have thin, peeling nails; on the contrary, their nails are stronger, thicker, this must be taken into account.

Features of men's manicure:

  • Coarse-grained files are used;
  • In order to remove the cuticle, nippers are needed;
  • The protective coating is applied matte.

Classic manicure

Classic manicure is also called edged manicure. In Russia, this is one of the most frequently performed manicures today. The technology is very simple and boils down to the following mandatory procedures:

  1. The nails are given the correct shape;
  2. Use a hand bath with herbal infusions and sea salt. Duration 10 minutes.
  3. The softened cuticle is trimmed with nippers or special scissors.

Pros of classic manicure:

  • Intensive therapy to treat nail problems;
  • Suitable for unkempt hands, gives a quick effect;
  • Doesn't take long, about 30 minutes.

Disadvantages of classic manicure:

  • Burrs may appear;
  • There is a possibility of skin damage and infection;
  • If the cuticle is damaged, increased growth and keratinization may occur;

Hot manicure

Hot manicure goes well with classic, European manicure. Gives excellent results for brittle nails, increased dryness, and damaged cuticles. The principle of hot manicure is based on the use of a device that heats and maintains a temperature of up to 40°C. Oil and warm lotion soften the skin, increase blood circulation, beneficial elements penetrate deeper, and the effect of the procedure is greater.

Pros of hot manicure:

  • Makes the cuticle softer;
  • Moisturizing the skin of the hands.
  • European manicure

European manicure

The method was invented in Europe, the second name for unedged manicure. The method does not use cuticle scissors. This manicure is safer than the classic one.

Advantages of European manicure:

  • Bloodless, painless procedure;
  • Eliminates the possibility of contracting infectious diseases;
  • Tweezers and scissors are not used.

Disadvantages of European manicure:

  • Does not give the desired effect on rough skin;
  • Suitable for well-groomed hands accustomed to constant visits to nail salons.

Hardware manicure

Hardware manicure is considered a European type. Its main difference: during the procedure, a special apparatus with many devices is used. They process the cuticle. Polished and shaped.

  1. With an uneven surface, nail separation;
  2. When the nail plate is wet;

Disadvantages of hardware manicure:

  • If the master is not professional enough, there is a possibility of harming the nail plate, excessively thinning it, and increasing sensitivity.

SPA – manicure

Spa manicure is used as an anti-aging procedure using products that contain ceramides. They restore elasticity, improve water balance, rejuvenate, and work as a light peeling. The manicure session ends with a relaxing hand massage.

Positive effects of SPA manicure:

  • Hydration;
  • Relaxation effect on the body;
  • Saturation with vitamins and skin ceramides;
  • Effective peeling.

Paraffin therapy

Paraffin therapy is useful during the off-season. The method consists of step-by-step disinfection, feeding with cream, and immersion in warm paraffin. After this, the hands are placed in bags, then in special mittens made of terry cloth. After the procedure is completed, the remaining paraffin is removed, and hand protection cream is rubbed into the skin.

Positive effects of paraffin therapy:

  • Improving tissue regeneration, healing cracks in the skin;
  • Removing toxins;
  • Moisturizing, normalizing water balance;
  • Skin whitening;
  • Improved mood.

Contraindications:

  • Cuts, open wounds on the hands;
  • Hypertension;
  • Varicose veins

The following types of manicure differ, mainly in decorative elements.

French manicure

Another option for the name of such a manicure is French. The peculiarities of the jacket are the most natural shades of beige. White is applied to the upper protruding part of the nail. This manicure is universal and suits different clothing styles.

American manicure

American manicure comes in two types:

  1. Classical Where varnishes are used in bright colors, a combination with shades of lipstick is required. Nails are long, oval shaped.
  2. Beverly Hills, with a distinctive feature when painting, preference is given to natural shades.

Spanish manicure

Spanish manicure dictates the use of brightly colored varnish, applied in strips, slightly overlapping one another. Most often two varnishes are used. Stripes are drawn vertically, horizontally, diagonally.

Japanese manicure

Japanese manicure is different from other types. His main goal, using medicinal preparations made from natural products, is to make the nail plate healthy, well-groomed, and stronger. It is not customary to hide nail problems by applying layer after layer of nail polish. Experts process them with wooden files. This type of manicure prohibits the use of metal or rough files when processing nails.

Brazilian manicure

Brazilian manicure is an excellent health procedure that provides comprehensive care. Hands are placed in a container of warm water. Then, with the help of scissors and a file, the nails acquire the required shape, then the nutritional composition is rubbed in, and disposable gloves are offered. The cuticle is processed and ends with a relaxing hand massage.

Every girl dreams of beautifully designed nails. Until recently, few people could afford a manicure done with gel polish, because it was done mainly only in expensive salons and by professional artists. However, today such a manicure is not a luxury, but an integral element of everyday and holiday manicure.

Technicians

Using gel polish to decorate nails has many advantages over other options, because this material:

  • beautiful, stands out brightly in the sun or any other type of lighting;
  • durable: nails coated with this varnish last longer than a regular manicure;
  • easily hides small defects of the nail plate;

  • does not have a sharp, pungent odor, unlike regular varnish;
  • does not cause allergic reactions;
  • protects the nail from the harmful effects of external factors.

Creating a gel polish manicure with your own hands is like a blank canvas for an artist, no matter whether it’s a professional or just an amateur. In any case, you can make all your wildest fantasies come true. This manicure will delight you for a month.

Fashion trends change almost every week: new trends emerge, old ones disappear. At the moment, there are several basic techniques for performing manicure using gel polish.

  • The most popular today remains French manicure or French manicure. The manicure technique, which has been ageless for several years now, is acquiring new varieties, for example, some masters began to decorate the nail with not one, but two “smiles”. The color can be completely different, it all depends on you, your mood, taste or even the color of lipstick.

  • Marble or turquoise manicure. This type of manicure appeared relatively recently, but has already managed to win the hearts of many women. The nails look as if the work was done not on the nail plate, but on some kind of stone. It looks at least unusual and, of course, very stylish.

  • Recently, this type of gel polish manicure has begun to gain popularity. lunar. The name of this variety arose due to the similarity of the shapes with the month. This option is comparable to a French manicure, only the crescent here is located in place of the cuticle. The choice of color here is also up to you.
  • Gel polish in monochrome. This is a simple manicure done in one color. The varnish can be applied using the casting technique, that is, the glossy varnish will look like it was cast from metal. The matte version looks no less interesting.

  • Multi-colored manicure. This concept is too general and it will not be possible to single out any specific technique here based on the degree of popularity. Trends in this type of manicure change from season to season, and sometimes even more often. In one season, flowers made using painting are popular; after a couple of months, geometric shapes are popular.

This option itself involves applying some designs to a colored or white base, or simply multi-colored nails.

  • Aquarium or water manicure. This unusual type of nail design is performed using a variety of additions, in addition to the gel polish itself. A variety of rhinestones, various figures made from special cardboard, and even small flowers are used here. The design is filled with gel on top and therefore looks as if it were under glass. This technique emerged quite recently, but has already found its fans.

There is also a separate type of manicure using a variety of decorative elements: from small rhinestones and sparkles to miniature figures. There are a huge number of techniques for performing this option.

Types of gel polish

Gel polishes differ not only in colors and manufacturers. According to their purpose, they are divided into two main groups:

  • standard decorative - simple gel polishes, the function of which is to cover and decorate the nail;
  • medicinal – varieties of gel polish that help solve a specific problem of the nail plate, for example, splitting.

Based on their appearance, varnishes are divided into the following options:

  • glossy - standard gel polish, which has a special shine, it reflects any light source;
  • matte – gel polish that does not have a characteristic shine;
  • mother-of-pearl – “pearl” type of varnish;

  • shimmer - gel polish with small shining particles;
  • glitter - varnish with large shining particles in the composition;
  • chameleon – the coating changes color when the lighting direction changes;

  • fluorescent - varnish that glows in the dark;
  • thermovarnish - the coating changes color depending on changes in ambient temperature.

Also, in addition to any varnish, you can use a variety of products, such as powder, to give different shades and effects.

What types of bases and primers are there?

Manicure bases are divided into two types:

  • leveling– serves to create a dense and even surface so that subsequent layers of varnish lay well and stay on the nail for a long time;
  • color– a base with a light color tint, most often used to create a French manicure.

Examples of the most popular nail bases include the following products:

  • CND Base Coat– the coating has excellent consistency;
  • Nano professional Nanlac Gum– easy-to-use material, suitable even for a beginner;
  • Masura Vitamin Base– one of the most easily removable bases.

Instead of a base, some professionals use special primers, each of which can perform a specific function and have an individual composition.

  • Bond (pre-primer)– the lightest type, it does not use any dyes or flavors. This primer performs approximately the same function as base coats.
  • Acid primer– a material containing methacrylic acid. This type is the most effective for bonding gel polish and the nail plate, but it can be harmful to thin or weak nails.
  • Acid-free primer- the most optimal option, since it is safe for nails, but perfectly performs all its functions. It perfectly degreases, ideally holds nails and varnish together, and also helps with artificial nail extensions.

Examples of the best primers:

  • Lady Victory– the product has a soft consistency;
  • EZ Flow– for the production of this material only environmentally friendly raw materials are used;
  • Kodi professional– differs in quality and favorable price.

In addition to the base and primers, tops are also used as additional materials for creating a gel manicure. Top is a special coating that is applied over colored varnish and helps strengthen it on the nail plate for a long time.

Autumn Design Ideas

The summer season is behind us, many people go back to work, which means again - gray everyday life, routine processes and no bright moments. In such cases, you need to look for bright, interesting, joyful colors everywhere, even in manicure.

Let's consider the main options for autumn manicure.

  • Traditional techniques. Both a standard French manicure and a lunar manicure in seasonally appropriate orange, red, gold or red colors are perfect for autumn. You can also apply an autumn-themed design in the same shades to a white or nude base. You can easily do these options at home with your own hands.

  • If you do not rely on natural conditions, but proceed only from trends, then abstract ornaments or laconic geometry in a wide variety of colors are suitable as a pattern. In this case, you can also use dark-colored varnishes.

  • Manicure with gradient this and next season gives freedom to play with contrasts. It is also possible to use a wide variety of gradient application options. This autumn also opens up a variety of variations for the use of blue. It looks especially great in combination with the gradient technique.

  • Matte manicure- the hit of this season. Used in different versions and color combinations.
  • Broken glass mosaic– an interesting option that will definitely stand out from many others. It is performed on a single-color nail plate with special pieces of “broken glass.” They can be arranged in the most bizarre shapes, the main thing is that the shades of glass and background are harmoniously combined.

  • Fashion drawings– an option that is suitable for very creative people. First you need to decide what is currently in fashion. Then choose one or two colors for the background and one or two colors for the design itself. And then you can draw anything you like: kittens, birds, tree branches, flowers, leaves, stars.

There are a lot of options, most often they choose white or soft pink for the background, and black, burgundy or purple for the design itself. The most important thing is that the colors do not merge.

  • Today, the image of geometric figures of various shapes is very fashionable. The image can be either completely simple or complex. The main thing here is that the colors of the background and the figures themselves match each other and do not merge.

For every girl and woman, manicure is an integral part of the image and probably each of you has asked the question - “what type of nail coating after a manicure is the most popular?!” The achievements of modern masters of nail aesthetics allow you to realize any of your fantasies on your nails, which in turn will speak about your character traits and preferences. There are endless types of manicure, and in this article you will see the most commonly used ones. A bright splash of colors, 3D modeling, single-color gel polish coating? What do you like best?

Photo gallery of the most frequently chosen nail coatings

Basic manicure (natural)

If you prefer a manicure without any frills, then ask your master to cover your nails with a transparent base or colorless bio gel after hygienic care. You can choose square, oval, square-oval or any other popular shape, and a clear or neutral finish will highlight their natural beauty. Well-groomed pens without a bright coating are no less popular than drawings. A manicure in natural colors is significantly different from others; it looks very neat, both in design and in the perception of others. It is also important that it will be elegantly combined with any clothes.

Classic French manicure

Frechn firmly joined the ranks of the most commonly used nail coatings many, many years ago. Probably more gentle than it’s hard to imagine. Looks great on any nail shape, any hand becomes feminine. A classic French jacket looks like this:

  • the nail plate is covered in beige or pastel pink;
  • white color is applied to the tip in the shape of a crescent.

It is thanks to the design that French fashionistas love so much that you can create a unique image of an aristocratic lady. Universal, no matter what length your nails are or what style of clothing you prefer, a French jacket is appropriate. You definitely won't lose by choosing this option.

Black and white

Lunar manicure

They came up with an equally worthy replacement for French in the form of holes. It got its name due to the imitation of a lunar eclipse on the nail using contrasting zones. At the time of its appearance, the design differed from the French only in that instead of a white edging on the nail, a crescent moon was made at the cuticle. Now the color range has expanded, and the techniques of the “hole” itself have changed. The shape of the “hole” can be of completely different types - oval, square, triangular. They are also decorated with glitter, rhinestones and other decorative options. Another huge plus is that when the gel polish grows out, you have to recoat it even if it’s perfect, but if the “hole” is left transparent, then when you cover it with gel polish, it won’t be noticeable that it has grown back and you can walk around again. A fact worthy of special attention.

American manicure

American women are especially concerned about the aesthetic appearance of their nails. But if nature has deprived them of a beautiful shape, length and strength, they calmly choose extensions. At its peak, extended nails are ballerina-shaped. Ballerinas' pointe shoes formed the basis for this look and symbolic name. This manicure will suit absolutely everyone. These are long nails with tapered sides. Every girl should understand that such an accessory will complement her style to perfection. And a lot depends on the correct choice of nail shape.

Gel manicure

A very familiar option for infinitely long wear. This is the most popular, most popular coating, which not a single young lady refuses, even despite its shortcomings. Well, what girl would refuse the opportunity to do absolutely everything around the house and not worry that something will happen to the varnish? The answer is obvious. A few weeks of bliss and no restrictions.

Classic gel polish is also a riot of colors and shades, just like regular varnishes that are already a thing of the past.

Glitter coating

Glitter gel is denser than gel polish, its highlight is in glitter. Thanks to this manicure you will sparkle and feel like the star of the evening.

Magnetic

Magnetic gel polish contains tiny metal particles that are activated under the influence of a magnetic disk. In this way, the particles can create a variety of three-dimensional patterns and give the effect of precious stones, for example (cat's eye). Almost all types of space manicure are from the category of magnetic coating.

Matte

The matte finish has become a real cry of fashion. The already boring shine was diversified with a sophisticated matte finish. In the gel systems used by the manicurist, a special Top gel has appeared for this purpose. It’s not for nothing that they say that everything ingenious is simple; instead of ruber, we cover our nails with a matte topcoat and voila, the usual manicure has taken on a new attractive look.

Velvet

Velvet coating, or cashmere or velor as it is also called, is another novelty in nail design. And if you choose the color of velvet to match your evening dress or boots, you will clearly be out of competition.

Decorations for manicure

Today, there are different ways to decorate your manicure - glitter, spraying, stickers, etc. After all, each of us is unique, and such a small one once again confirms this. After all, in the modern world you need not be afraid to express yourself and the look of your nails is another way to do this.
Have you been eyeing mirrored nails? They are made using dust. It is she who forms the mirror. This variation looks incredibly cool and bright.

Glitter – if you don’t like regular manicure and find it boring, then glitter is what you need. They come in a variety of shapes and colors, which means they will satisfy the most demanding fashionistas.

Stickers were created for artists who do not like to draw. And the cost of the drawings was not cheap, because such painstaking work is highly valued. Now, in order to save time on both sides, many people choose stencils with ready-made designs instead of hand painting.

Liquid stones and gold casting are the latest decoration techniques, made only in gel systems.

Broths are small balls, reminiscent of mini pearls, because they shimmer in exactly the same way.

Nail art is pleasantly impressive, there are so many girls and so many ideas, you can’t help but like such variety.

Airbrush

“Airbrush” is a very fast way of applying designs to nails. The master uses stencils and a sprayer; he can come up with patterns himself, or make an ombé with smooth transitions from dark to light shades and vice versa.

3D manicure

3D in manicure also implies three-dimensionality of the image. Performed using modeling. Neil the designer will create any figurine you want.

Covering your nails with Swarovski crystals is a good idea. They will create shimmer like a diamond.

Artificial nails

It is difficult to imagine a modern urban woman without extended nails. They are modeled with acrylic and gel.
Acrylic modeling is simpler and takes little time. The master lays out the nail using acrylic powder and monomer. They dry very quickly without unnecessary help, so the whole process with extensions and coating can take a maximum of an hour and a half. Unlike the second type - gel.

This technology is more complex and time-consuming. The gel is a liquid substance; it takes a little more than a few minutes to form one nail and dry it under a UV lamp. When finished, both extensions look great.

Services you should use before coverage

Very often, in the daily bustle, we forget about caring for our hands and feet, and this is no less important than the choice of color and pattern. In order to keep the skin of your hands and feet well-groomed and healthy, you can use spa treatments.

What could be more pleasant after a long, tiring day at work than a relaxing hand massage or scrub? Take time for a moment of relaxation.

Paraffin manicure

Paraffin therapy is necessary for those who have dry or rough skin. Paraffin wax will instantly moisturize it, because the priority of this caring service is to nourish and relax your hands.

Manicure using hot stones

If you dream of pampering or want to give a loved one an unusual gift, think about a stone manicure; it is not only very pleasant, but also useful. This is hand steaming and massage with warm stones. Its benefits are to improve blood circulation. Heated stones of volcanic origin, most often balsate, give the skin greater elasticity and firmness, while cold stones help improve muscle tone.

Hand massage

With the help of a massage, you can get rid of fatigue, make your skin elastic, which will make your touch especially gentle. Thanks to regular massage, you can prevent the deposition of salts in the joints and the development of diseases such as arthritis. Try massaging your hands with oil or cream yourself, especially if you are nervous and the stress will immediately recede.

Scrubbing

An incredibly pleasant procedure, at this stage the stratum corneum of the skin is removed and the pores are cleansed. This is very important for the soles of our feet, because they bear our weight all day long, and our hands absorb the dirt of the environment. If you do the procedure regularly, you will forget what peeling and redness are, and softness and moisture will become your constant companions. Pamper yourself, because you are alone.

A beautiful, bright, and most importantly, long-lasting manicure is what many women dream of. But often the coating peels off the nails within two or three days. But it was like that before. Now everyone has the opportunity to perform a manicure with gel polish, which will allow you to create a bright, beautiful and very durable nail art of nails to your taste.

Coating features

Nail manicure using gel polish is becoming more and more popular every day. It allows you to create a beautiful, long-lasting manicure even on your own at home. In addition, unlike nail extensions or covering them with acrylic, gel polish is safer for the structure of the nails. The variety of shades, the possibility of applying a pattern or rhinestones on top of this coating make it possible to create a manicure for every taste and occasion.

The main feature of gel polish is its durability and the absence of such a defect as cracking on the surface of the nail. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about the safety of your manicure and feel free to do household chores such as laundry, washing dishes and wet cleaning.

photos

Being the opposite of standard varnishes and acrylic coating, this product not only does not injure the nails, but also helps to strengthen them and enhance growth. Therefore, this type of nail art is ideal for women with thin and brittle nails.

Also, this coating will be the best choice for those who love a bright and beautiful manicure, but cannot or do not want to do it themselves every day. The unique formula of this product allows it to maintain the brightness of the colors, their shine and safety on the nails for more than 14 days. Therefore, this nail design is perfect for those who go on vacation or a long business trip.

But perhaps the most important feature of gel polish is the need to use specific equipment when applying it.

The process of covering the nails with it is not difficult, but it can become completely impossible due to the lack of necessary tools. Therefore, before proceeding directly to the manicure, you should purchase all the necessary attributes in advance.

Those who decide to try doing a manicure with gel polish on their own need to stock up on the necessary equipment, and first of all this applies to special ultraviolet lamps. There are two types of such lamps on sale - UV and LED. It is best for beginners to give preference to the first option, as it has a lower cost and is easier to use.

You will also need special files of various sizes and a special file for grinding the nail plate - buff. In addition to the gel polish itself in various shades, you will also need a special base and fixer. Particular attention must be paid to ensure that these two products are intended specifically for gel coating; those used for nail extensions are not suitable. After using them, the gel polish begins to crack within a few hours. As a last resort, you can coat the gel with ordinary colorless varnish, but in this case you should not count on long-lasting manicure.

You will also need such components as special lint-free cotton pads or napkins, degreasers, orange tree sticks and emollient cream or cuticle oil. But it’s not enough to acquire all the necessary tools; you need to learn how to use them correctly.

First of all, you need to undergo special training. It is preparation for further work that plays an important role. Not only its appearance and durability, but also the opinion of you as a specialist depends on how correctly the manicure is performed.

This can be done either at specialized courses or by asking a good specialist to show you a master class. It’s even better to take private lessons periodically, this way you can avoid many problems at work and, if necessary, immediately receive competent help. The instructions for working with gel polish itself are very simple, all the steps are accessible, understandable and described in detail, but it is still better to see once than to read or hear several times.

An important role in the work is played by the neatness of both the master himself and his working area. Therefore, it is very important that your desktop is always in perfect order. The first impression is the most important thing, even if you plan to do manicures only for yourself and your friends.

Simply applying gel polish to your nails in one color quickly gets boring. Therefore, it is recommended to constantly improve your professionalism. The easiest way is to purchase special stickers, rhinestones and stencils to create drawings and patterns.

Experienced manicurists strongly recommend that all beginners, even those who plan to apply gel polish exclusively for themselves, create a portfolio of their work. This will allow you to clearly see the progress of your activities or spot some mistakes.

In addition, in the future this will allow the client to have a clear choice of possible nail designs.

How to apply at home

But you can learn how to paint your nails with gel polish efficiently, beautifully, correctly and accurately only by practicing regularly. Therefore, first of all, you need to understand in detail how to properly paint your nails with gel polish at home yourself.

There are two ways to do a manicure with your own hands without leaving the walls of your home. They differ in the materials used and the type of lamp. In the first case, to perform a manicure you will need a file, a buff, a base and top coat, a UV lama, gel polish of the desired shade, a degreaser and a disinfectant. In the second case, similar tools are used, but a primer is also added to them, and the UV lamp is replaced with an LED lamp.

The instructions for the first method contain the following steps:

  1. Filing the edge of the nail to give it the required even shape and removing the keratin layer from its surface using a regular file and a buff file. The buff must be used with caution; it is enough to make only a few movements with this tool to remove shine from the surface of the nails. This is necessary for better bonding of the coating to the nail.
  2. Then you need to trim the cuticle, using special tweezers.
  3. Degreasing the nail bed is a mandatory step in a manicure with gel polish.
  4. After this, the surface of the nail bed is covered with a special gel base. It is best to apply it to each finger and dry it in a lamp. In UV the drying time is two minutes.
  5. After this, a thin layer of the selected shade of gel polish is applied to the dry nails. Pay special attention that the first layer should be translucent. We also recommend applying it to each finger in turn, and each next one should be painted after the previous one has dried.
  6. We apply a second layer of gel polish, which should be much thicker than the first. We also dry the tips of our fingers in a UV lamp.
  7. Finally, a top coat must be applied to all nails, which should also cover the end of the nails. It must also dry completely under ultraviolet rays. After time, the sticky layer from the nail is removed using a disinfectant.

If we talk about the second method of performing a manicure at home, then the sequence of actions is similar to the method described above. The difference lies in two things:

  • After degreasing the nail bed, a primer is first applied to it, which is dried in a lamp, and only then the base for the gel polish is applied. Further manicure techniques are performed in the same step-by-step manner as in the first method.
  • Unlike an ultraviolet lamp, an LED lamp allows you to dry the coating not in two minutes, but in only 15-20 seconds, which can significantly reduce the procedure time.

Although in the first version of the manicure, an LED lamp can also be used. It all depends on financial capabilities and personal preferences. The technology for performing a manicure with gel polish does not necessarily imply the use of a primer. But experienced masters say that this particular product allows you to extend the life of your manicure and has a positive effect on your nails.

Performing a manicure step by step, you can add some of your own changes. For example, before applying the top coat, you can decorate your nails with colored threads, rhinestones or any design. It must be remembered that additional decorations can be applied only after the gel polish has dried in the lamp.

After decorating the nails, they must be especially carefully coated with a fixative to fix the elements on the nails and dried in a lamp for about three minutes or 30 seconds, it all depends on its type.

When doing a manicure with gel polish, you need to pay special attention to the accuracy of applying all types of coating to the nails. You should carefully ensure that the gel polish or fixative does not get on the skin ridges around the nails and cuticles. Firstly, they can provoke irritation or an allergic reaction, and secondly, such a manicure will look untidy and careless.

How to do a manicure with gel polish at home, see the video below.

But making nail art using this product is only half the battle. Sooner or later it will need to be removed from the nail plate.

Withdrawal rules

This type of nail polish cannot be removed the same way as regular nail polish. Some masters remove it from the nails with a file, that is, they file it off, just like acrylic coating or extended nails. But this is absolutely wrong. Firstly, it is a waste of time, and secondly, such a procedure can significantly damage the nails.

To remove gel polish from the surface of the nails, you can use a special cleaning solution, which can be purchased immediately complete with the gel. You can also use regular nail polish remover, but provided that it contains acetone.

In addition to the liquid itself, you will also need cotton wool discs or balls, orange tree sticks, as well as regular kitchen foil.

The discs are generously moistened in the selected solution and applied tightly to the fingertips, and wrapped with foil on top. The hands remain in this position for an average of 20 minutes. If a special product was used, then its exposure time on the gel polish is 15 minutes. If you used regular nail polish remover, leave it on your nails for half an hour.

Then the foil with cotton wool is removed from the fingertips. The nail covering underneath should swell greatly and rise above the surface of the nail itself. Using an orange stick, carefully lift it to the end and move it to the edge of the nail, then remove it completely. Under the influence of liquid, the varnish turns into a thin film, which can be easily and simply removed from the surface of the nail without damaging it.

Of course, you should understand that the longer this product was on the surface of the nails, the more difficult it will be to remove it, and the procedure may take much longer. Therefore, the optimal time interval between application of this coating and its removal is considered to be 14 days.

After removing the gel polish, you need to give your nails a rest for at least a couple of days. It is best to make special herbal baths or baths with sea salt, this will help them recover faster after the procedure.
