Such a hare (rabbit) craft made from a towel can be part of a gift for the New Year (in the year of the rabbit according to the eastern calendar), February 23, March 8, Easter (the Easter bunny is a symbol of fertility, and the egg is a symbol of life). Square terry napkins will make cute bunnies that can be included as a gift for a newborn. Before using the towel for its intended purpose, let it act as a hare for a while - the child will be happy to play with such an unusual toy craft!

In Feng Shui, the hare (rabbit) is a symbol of longevity, abundance, and sensitivity. And no matter what interpretation of this cute eared symbol you choose, it will certainly carry a positive attitude and give a lot of pleasant emotions both to you, during the making of the figures, and to the person being gifted. Happy creativity!

How to give a towel as a gift

If you decide to give someone a practical gift, then you may well opt for a towel.

But simply giving a towel in a bag or box is not very interesting, so I bring to your attention several original ways on how you can interestingly decorate a towel as a gift with your own hands, so that the towel becomes not only practical, but also a very original gift. In other words, how to fold a towel with your own hands so that you won’t be ashamed to give it even without packaging.

Towel bunny

The method is suitable not only for future little owners of towels, but also for adult, but romantic or young-at-heart birthday people.

The idea of making a bunny out of a towel before giving it as a gift was borrowed by me from the Odessa handicraft forum.

Fold the towel with your own hands as shown in the diagram and tie it with a ribbon:

And get a charming sitting bunny from a towel (its face can be embroidered directly on the towel or you can put the edge of a piece of paper with drawn eyes, a nose, and a smile under the ribbon):

As can be seen in the last photo, to decorate the bunnies you can use store-bought eyes and pompoms for toys (as a nose). Or you can make do with what you have at hand: beads, beads, buttons... You can lightly grab them with a thread so that you can easily remove them later so you can use them without worry.

Elephant made from a pair of towels

This idea for decorating a gift with your own hands was also found on the Internet, in one interesting blog.

In order to make an elephant as a gift, you will need a couple of towels. First, from one towel we make the body and legs of an elephant with our own hands:

Now we use the second towel, from which we twist the elephant’s head with our own hands as a gift:

We tuck in the towel, and all that remains is to place the head of the towel elephant on its body with legs:

What if you sew eyes made of buttons, beads or seed beads onto a towel with your own hands? Or decorate with a bow? Or give the towel elephant something to hold in its trunk (for example, a keychain, chain or light beads)?

Towel cake

This super DIY towel gift wrapping idea is from a craft blog.

This idea can be implemented if you give a lot of towels at once! Towels are rolled into rollers and stacked in tiers one on top of the other.

If you don't have as many towels as in the photo, don't despair. You can get by with at least a couple of towels of different sizes. To do this, you must first fold each towel with your own hands into the longest ribbon possible, and then roll this ribbon with your own hands.

Of course, a roller covering an entire tier of cake will not look as airy and original as the towels in the photo.

However, the matter can be corrected by using cake decorations in the form of beads, ribbons, bows, buttons, textile flowers and other decorative elements, including those cut out of paper.

Basket with roses

This option is best suited for small, rather thin towels (initially it was intended to use this method for packing children's clothes), to implement it you will need a basket:

It is better to wrap such roses from the corners of the towel. Then from each you will get at least four roses. And if you dodge, then even more.

Add to this roses made from soap, from ribbons, artificial or real, leaves made from plastic, fabric or ribbons, and the basket is ready!

If you have a green towel, then you can use it to make just greenery for roses, which you can make with your own hands from something else (for example, ribbons, beads, etc.)

Give hand-folded towels with pleasure!

A towel folded like a bunny can become an original holiday souvenir.

    Master Class

It is better to take a terry towel, which we fold with the corners towards the middle. Then fold it again and again, as shown in the photo. You will need a kinder surprise, and it is better to take a towel 30 by 30 centimeters square. Wrap the kinder surprise in a plain fabric, a fabric napkin with an embroidered congratulation, you get a colored belly for a bunny.

It is better to give a couple of bunnies made of towels of different colors. An excellent gift for children and grandmothers; in the latter case, you can put two painted wooden spoons inside, which will give stability to the hare.

It’s not at all difficult to make a craft like a hare from a towel. We will need a terry towel of a suitable color (the most beautiful bunnies are made in pastel colors), ribbon, and buttons or beads for the bunny's eyes and nose.

Take a square piece of towel and bend it diagonally, then you need to roll it up, bend it into a horseshoe and tie it with tape. The entire process is shown in this diagram.

Then all that remains is to glue on the hare’s eyes and nose. You can plant such a bunny next to Easter eggs and flowers.

Let's try to turn a terry towel or napkin into a cute bunny with our own hands.

Making a hare is quite simple.

Carefully roll a small towel or napkin (preferably not too thick, but dense) into a tube. To do this, we begin to wrap the sharp ends of the towel towards the middle. Then we fold the resulting tube in half and wrap its ends back and secure with a thin rubber band. This is a hare's face. Now we will glue the eyes and nose to the bunny, and tie a bow of satin ribbon on top of the elastic band. Correct the bunny's ears and the terry beast is ready!

You can make a towel bunny as a gift for a child or friend.

You can make a towel bunny with your own hands in several ways.

Divide the towel diagonally into two halves and twist the remaining two ends towards the middle. We bend it in half, then in half again: we are left with the ears and butt of the bunny. Using a rubber band, we make a head for the bunny and straighten the ears.

You can also sew a bunny from an old terry towel. But this toy is stuffed.

Fold the towel in half. We make ears from the corners and sew them together. Next, we form the head, stuffing it with padding polyester. We tie the head with a thread around the bunny's neck. Now we stuff the body with padding polyester and sew it up. Draw a bunny's face. Sew on the tail and paws. A toy made from an old towel is ready.

  • Make a bunny out of a towel

It's not difficult at all. You will need any towel (preferably terry) and a piece of ribbon.

Nowadays, figures made from napkins or towels have become fashionable. Let's say that earlier we showed it for table setting, but today we will demonstrate how to make a bunny from a towel. The finished “little animal” can be presented to people from your close circle as a gift for Easter or given to children for some holiday. Or you can use them to complement your table setting; miniature towels are an excellent substitute for table napkins.

DIY towel bunny: step-by-step master class

You need to prepare:

  • Miniature square towel;
  • Stationery eraser.

So, lay the towel on the table, fold it from one corner to the other. It is necessary to make sure that the angles do not meet perfectly, but are offset. Next, roll the towel into a roll, but not all the way, the ends should be left free.

We bend the product in the center, you get the outline of the breast.

We hold the structure with one hand and straighten the ears with the other. We wrap the roll behind the ears with an elastic band.

We straighten one part of the roll. And we wrap it around the second part.

We bend both parts of the roll from below to the rabbit’s face, stretching it under the elastic band. The ends of the rolls stretched under the elastic band need to be straightened - these will be the bunny's paws.

In this master class I will introduce you to two ways to fold towels to make a hare or rabbit.

For the New Year, we try to make interesting presents for all our friends and family. This year the choice fell on a rabbit made from ordinary towels. This will turn out to be a gift, a cute soft toy, and a symbol of the coming year. Many people will even like the process of folding such a hare; this, one might say, is origami from towels. This will be especially interesting for children. Verified!

Materials for master class.

Any size towel will work for folding the bunny. What kind of gift you want to give, we will form it into a toy. Only from a small towel you will get a small bunny or rabbit, and from a large towel, a correspondingly large one.

I used a terry towel and a small piece of satin ribbon.

The first way is how to make a hare from a towel.

Lay the towel out on a flat surface.

Fold it in half lengthwise.
Place the left and right corners, where the fold of the towel is, towards the middle. These corners should extend beyond the fold line of the towel. These will be our future hare or rabbit ears.

From the opposite side, wrap the towel in a tube in the direction of the ears to the point where the towel bends.

Fold the resulting structure in half. The fold is between the ears.

Drag the body of the resulting bunny or rabbit approximately in the middle with a ribbon or string and tie a bow.

The second way is how to make a hare or rabbit from a towel.

Such a bunny or rabbit also comes with paws.

Lay out the towel.
We work along the length of the towel.

Wrap the corner of the towel towards the opposite side of the towel at an angle and wrap a small piece of the towel over itself from this protruding corner.

Do the same with the other corner of the towel. We are the ones who lay the hare's ears.

Roll the towel into a tube, starting on the opposite side of the ears.

Fold the resulting structure in half. The fold line runs between the ears.

Fold the resulting ends of the towel forward, press it in the middle of the body, tie it with a ribbon or rope, and tie a bow.

After we have tied our towel bunny with a ribbon, you can straighten out the folds on the bunny.

This bunny or rabbit is more like a soft toy bunny or rabbit. Looks great from the front, side and back. You can make a small pompom for the ponytail. Such an original gift will definitely delight your loved ones. And after the holiday, the towel can always be used at home.

This is origami made from towels.

If you already have gifts for the New Year ready, you can put cloth napkins on the New Year's table and decorate the festive table with them.
Try to make these bunnies with your children. Children always like to make figures out of “nothing”. And then an ordinary terry towel will turn into a cute bunny.
